This training program is geared towards a 360° coverage of the ITIL 4 Foundation certification exam. The courseware utilizes a mix of practice tests and video presentations (in addition to instructor-led lectures for classroom formats) for an impactful learning experience.

  • 2 days' (7-8 hours per day) instructor-led lectures.
  • Recordings of your instructor-led lectures (available after the class within your online self-paced course access), if you've opted for the live-online training format.

Prerequisites for the ITIL 4 certification:

There are no mandatory prerequisites to attend the training or ITIL 4 exam. A basic understanding of Service Management concepts is helpful.

ITIL 4 Foundations certification is in itself a prerequisite for other levels in the ITIL 4 certification scheme.

What does the certification exam entail?

On successful completion of the training, participants can schedule their ITIL 4 exam by using the exam voucher. The exam is conducted online by PEOPLECERT, and the certification is maintained by them. The exam is a closed book and has a rigorous assessment process. Participants need to achieve a minimum pass percentage (65% for ITIL 4 Foundation) to be certified.

Exam details:

  • Number of questions: 40

  • Duration: 1 hour

  • Exam format: Objective Test Questions (OTQs)

  • Passing Score: 65% ( 26 out of 40 questions)

If a candidate is taking the exam in a non-native or working language, they may be awarded 25% extra time ( i.e., 75 minutes in total)

Learner profile for the ITIL 4 Foundation certification

This course is suitable for individuals in the IT profession and business students who intend to kickstart service management career. To broadly categorize:

  • ITSM professionals or aspiring ITSM professionals.

  • Existing ITIL qualification holders who wish to upgrade the knowledge.

ITIL 4 is launched to keep up with the latest trends in software development and IT operations. It is a community-driven update and has integrated Agile, DevOps and Lean concepts with ITIL best practices. Thus helping professionals to compete in the growing and complex market.

Axelos has released the ITIL Foundation module on 28th February 2019. Other levels of education are expected to be scheduled for late Summer 2019.

If you have only completed your ITIL v3 Foundation course, it is recommended that you take up an ITIL 4 Foundation course. This ensures a smooth transition to the new certification scheme and also, there are a lot of new focus areas and materials in ITIL 4 which is assessed in the new ITIL 4 exam.

If you have started your journey in ITIL V3, do not worry if your certifications will become obsolete. ITIL V3 continues as a credible IT certification, and the exams are available until a further announcement from AXELOS. It is expected that ITIL V3 will be relevant until mid-June 2020.

If you have already accumulated 17 credits in the ITIL V3 certification scheme, then you are eligible to take the ITIL Managing Professional Transition Module that will help you to change to ITIL 4 certification scheme.

If you do not have 17 credits, then you can continue in the V3 certification scheme until you accumulate your 17 credits or start fresh from the ITIL 4 Foundation course.
